Children featuring in Forum’s new Global Standard

In global news, this month Forum, a global network of International Volunteer Cooperation Organisations, has launched its “Global Standard for Volunteering for Development.”

This standard seeks to support organisations in improving their practices, in turn securing more constructive impacts for the developing communities in which they operate. Significantly for children, the standard includes references to child-safe volunteering, with emphasis on the dangers of orphanage tourism.
